For the past two summers I have been working with my dad's company as a roofer. Having completed first year of university,yesterday I drove to Scarbourough in HEAVY traffic in order to go speak personally with my boss about a summer position. Although I was fairly confident that I was going to get re-hired ,( which i did btw) on the drive home I realized how the economic recession is affecting everyone. With many companies implimenting layoffs & cutting hours, this economic turmoil whether we admit it or not has an effect on our lifestyles. The retail industry has taken a huge hit as many people simply do not have the disposible income to purchase expensive products. Having personal experience working at Holt Renfrew, I have spoken to some of my old co-workers who have been laid off due to the lay offs that the company has had to undertake.It hurts to see people with families to support who have been with the company many years being laid off.

Countless manufacturing companies including General Motors & Ford have been heavily impacted. With not enough work for the amount of labour they employ, many laid off employees have sought off to change career choices. Being 19 and making $20+ an hour over the summer, I consider myself extremely blessed to continue working and would not be one of the many people job searching under these conditions.

With Depression and constant stress from all these money woes becoming a big factor,many people are finding it hard to adjust to their new lifestyles. This past year, I have seen how short-lived financial success can become & have decided to re-structure my spending habits. I ask myself, ' How many pairs of shoes do I really need?' ' Do I really need a pair of $300 jeans? '.


In times like these, open your eyes and realize what life is all about.

Rain.

It's amazing right now.
This past night was daylight savings time.. & now there is a huge rainstorm
that is clearing all the snow & making way for the pretty flowers.

This was taken yesterday on our way downtown for pauls 19th.
We broke up two fights where I got punched in the head & was seeing stars for a couple of seconds, fought off bouncers & we managed to still find time to dance...ahhhh the university life.

Nigger- Randall Kennedy

Since February is black history month I took the time to finish off this book.
The book is written by a Harvard Law professor & is a quick read just under 150 pages.

I highly recommend the book as it goes through an in depth analysis of the word starting with it's origin & throughout the book the author presents many current examples to clarify his points.Although the book is not very long, it does give the reader a knowledgable & up to date understanding of the word & social stigmas that are related to it.

Honestly, people don't do it enough.
Everyone is always so stressed out & always has something on their mind. They walk around always focusing on it which leaves their faces always clenched in thought. Ladies & gentlemen all this bad negativity will make you look old, not to mention make your life miserable. Life is the greatest gift. Many people do not appreciate how sacred live really is until they have a near death experience. Live your life to the fullest, smile it not only makes you happy, it also can cheer up others too.

it's a win/win situation.

Positivity is key. Nobody wants to hang out with someone who is always pessimistic and always feeling bad about themselves. BE HAPPY.Humans are naturally attracted to happiness.( Ever get that feeling where you see two people laughing or smiling & want to know what the fuck is so funny?).When you're happy others will want to hang out with you & you'll end up having lots of fun & meet new exciting people.

It's Official, my life is complete! Blink 182 is back.

It's official ladies & gentlemen.
If you haven't already heard, Tom, Mark & Travis have re-united & will have an album out summer 09.
I've been up all night listening to them & just taking it all in.
It's great to see such close friendships re-kindled especially after travis' accident.
Alright... now it's time for me to get back to watching blink videos on youtube.
